Native Language Teacher in German

We are now looking for a native language teacher in German for the schools in Karlstad municipality!

Language is humanity's primary tool for thinking, communicating, and learning.

Through language, people develop their identity, express feelings and thoughts, and understand how others feel and think. Access to one's native language also facilitates language development and learning in various areas.

The position is placed in the native language unit, which organizes native language instruction and study guidance in about 30 languages within primary and secondary schools in Karlstad municipality. The native language teacher's mission includes being a bridge between the native language and the Swedish language, as well as helping and supporting students in their development and learning in close collaboration with other staff at the schools. Approximately 45 teachers work in the unit.

Responsibilities

As a native language teacher, you are responsible for native language instruction and/or study guidance in German at the schools in the municipality. You provide high-quality teaching and have an inclusive approach. The position includes planning instruction and using digital tools for both students' learning and the planning and documentation of teaching.

You will have close collaboration with other staff at the schools. Instruction is conducted at several schools in Karlstad or via remote teaching.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a native language teacher with a teaching degree or another degree with a pedagogical focus and have knowledge of the Swedish school's governing documents. You have German as your native language or very good knowledge of German, as well as good knowledge of the Swedish language both spoken and written. It is advantageous if you have other relevant education in languages and experience from similar work.

We prefer that you are flexible, attentive, and driven in your professional role. You have good collaboration skills and see it as important and significant to create good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Through your strong interest in students' learning, you develop your work to create good conditions for all students' opportunities for learning and development.
